Jason has served as production counsel for such shows as “Clybourne Park”, “Dead Accounts”, “Seminar”, “Finding Neverland”, “Rock of Ages”, “Oleanna”, “The Producers”, “A Bronx Tale”, “Bridge and Tunnel”, “On Golden Pond” and “Dame Edna.” Upcoming: “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”, “The Money Shot”, “Murder Ballad”, “Flashdance” and “Little Miss Sunshine”. He serves as legal counsel to regional and developmental theaters around the country, including Second Stage Theater, Signature Theater in Arlington, VA, La Mama, The Culture Project, Kansas City Rep, Vital Theater Company, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Tectonic Theater Company. In addition to commercial producers and theater companies, Jason represents scores of award winning playwrights, composers, lyricists, directors, performers, designers, orchestrators and arrangers. Clients of Sendroff & Baruch, LLP are involved in most of the shows on Broadway.
Jason is the treasurer of the Entertainment Arts & Sports Law (EASL) section of the New York State Bar Association and the co-chair of EASL’s Theater and Performing Arts Committee. He sits on the advisory board of Naked Angels and was a member of the board of directors of HERE Performing Arts Center for 15 years, two New York theater institutions. Jason teaches regularly at the Commercial Theater Institute (CTI) and wrote a chapter in CTI’s reference book called “The Commercial Theater Institute Guide to Producing Plays and Musicals.” He also organizes and participates in numerous panels and lectures on the subject.
In addition to theater, Jason represents many companies and individuals in the music industry, including recording artists and music publishers, as well as play licensing companies, novelists and non-fiction authors. He also represents producers, writers, actors and other talent in the film and television industry and renders film and television production services.
Jason received his undergraduate degree from Yale College, where he majored in philosophy. He received his law degree (J.D.) from New York University School of Law and his masters of laws (LL.M.) in international commercial law from the University of Hong Kong Law School. Jason clerked for The Honorable Ruggero J. Aldisert of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is admitted to the bar in both California and New York State. He founded Sendroff & Baruch, LLP in 2007 with law partner Mark Sendroff.
